Advanced Allergy Therapeutics (AAT) offers a unique and highly effective approach to treating the many symptoms associated with allergies and sensitivities. AAT is a precision-based therapy that treats the organ systems involved in an overreaction. AAT does not treat the immune system; instead, the therapy focuses on inappropriate reactions to harmless substances in relation to the organ systems, producing rapid, long-term relief of associated symptoms. AAT merges 21st-century science with 3,000-year-old traditional acupuncture and modern chiropractic principles, offering an effective alternative for the treatment of symptoms associated with allergies and sensitivities.

UNDERSTANDING ALLERGIES AND SENSITIVITIES
Allergies and sensitivities are caused by inappropriate reactions to harmless substances. The word “allergy” comes from the Greek "allos," meaning “other.” It was first used in 1906 to refer to an "altered reaction" in the body's immune system.
A “true allergy” is a reaction triggered by the immune system. However, there are numerous symptoms or conditions caused by sensitivities that may or may not involve the immune system. When it comes to reactions involving food, a large percentage of the population believes they have allergies, yet fewer than 2% actually have true allergies. In fact, many suffer from undiagnosed food sensitivities or intolerances.
The majority of patients seeking AAT treatment do not have true allergies; their symptoms are likely caused by sensitivities with no immune involvement. Since there are few options for treating sensitivities other than avoidance, AAT provides a highly effective alternative. Symptoms caused by true allergies also respond well to the treatment, as the organ systems involved in the reaction are also addressed.
The use of the word “allergy” has become a generic term used by the public to describe allergies, sensitivities and intolerances.
WHAT IS AAT
Advanced Allergy Therapeutics (AAT) is a clinically proven treatment that is highly effective in treating the many symptoms associated with allergies and sensitivities. It was developed through over 28 years of collaborative research by healthcare professionals in the fields of acupuncture, naturopathy, and chiropractic. What makes AAT different is that it doesn’t rely on medication, herbal remedies, or supplements. And the best part? It’s completely safe and painless and is available to people of all ages, so everyone can benefit from this therapeutic approach.
The AAT treatments work directly with the relationship between the major organ systems and overreactions to harmless substances. While the immune system is responsible for initiating an immune reaction in the case of true allergies, it is the health and state of the organ systems that often determines the type of symptoms that may arise.
When it comes to sensitivities and allergies, symptoms typically stem from the organ system affected.
When it comes to reactions, using soybeans as an example, symptoms can vary greatly from person to person. For instance, one patient may experience rashes, while another may experience sinus congestion, heartburn, or even irritable bowel syndrome. Each of these symptoms represents a different organ system that is involved. By focusing treatment on the specific organ system(s) involved in a reaction, the body is better equipped to respond more appropriately to a substance, which means fewer symptoms.
UNDERSTANDING AAT
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, treatment methods involve stimulating specific points on the body to directly access each organ system and improve its state. The AAT therapy takes this approach one step further by utilizing the points in a unique and innovative way that has been proven to lead to successful treatments.
The treatment points used are situated along the spine and correspond to the location of the Sympathetic chain, which is responsible for our body’s “fight or flight” responses. By targeting reactive organ systems through these points in relation to an offending substance, it’s possible to alter a defensive reaction, allowing for a healthier response.
At AAT, we understand that some people may be apprehensive about needles. That’s why our method utilizes a precision-based acupressure technique to access the organ systems, rather than needles. Our unique approach of addressing defensive physiology has proven to be highly effective in altering the state of the organ systems.
The AAT therapy has been developed as an Integrative Medicine and is offered by certified AAT practitioners who come from a variety of backgrounds, including Acupuncturists, Chiropractors, Naturopathic Doctors, Osteopaths, Medical Doctors, Doctors of Physical Therapy, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians Assistants and Registered Nurses.
During treatment, an AAT practitioner will apply gentle pressure to specific points along the spine that correspond with the organ systems involved in a reaction.
During the point stimulation process, a digital representation of the offending substance is introduced to the skin’s surface through an arm cuff. By stimulating specific points, stress on the affected organ systems can be reduced. Since the point stimulation and the substance exposure occur simultaneously, the body can form a new association with the item due to the decreased stress on the systems, no longer perceiving the substance as harmful and allowing for a more appropriate response.
In the world of holistic medicine, there’s a common understanding that treating the whole body is crucial to achieving optimal health. It’s believed that various forms of stress and interference can disrupt the proper functioning of the body, leading to health issues. By reducing stress and interference, we can support the specific organ system and help the body respond more effectively. Ultimately, this approach allows for optimal health and wellness.
AAT does not diagnose allergies, sensitivities or intolerances.
AAT does not test for allergies or sensitivities. The AAT system simply assesses what may be causing a stress to the body.
AAT does not cure allergies, nor does the therapy treat the immune system.
AAT is a highly effective treatment that provides long-term relief from symptoms associated with allergies or sensitivities.
AAT does not treat cases of anaphylaxis or life-threatening symptoms. Strict avoidance is always advised in these cases.
SYMPTOMS TREATED
A sensitivity or inappropriate reaction can trigger symptoms in any organ system of the body. While certain systems are more likely to react to specific families of allergens or substances—such as the respiratory system reacting to pollen—any substance can potentially affect any organ system, leading to a wide range of symptoms that vary from person to person. For instance, a reaction to wheat might cause hives in one individual, digestive issues in another, and fatigue, wheezing, or acid reflux in others. AAT targets the specific organ systems affected by the allergen or offending substance.
Digestive System
Symptoms include reflux, heartburn, abdominal and intestinal pain, cramping, gas, bloating, nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. These symptoms are primarily caused by reactions to food or other ingestants.
Respiratory System
Symptoms include sneezing, congestion, runny nose, wheezing, shortness of breath, coughs, postnasal drip, skin conditions, rashes, and itchy, watery eyes. Reactions may be associated with pollens, dust, food, chemicals, animals (including dog and cat dander and bird feathers), airborne substances, and contactants.
Dermatological
Symptoms may include red, itchy, or scaly skin rashes, blisters with oozing and crusting, dry leathery patches, or hives. The main cause of dermatological reactions can be a reaction to food, but they can also be caused by plants, contactants, and chemicals.
Headaches and Migraines
These may be caused by reactions to food, such as chocolate and caffeine, airborne irritants like pollens, and chemicals including household cleaners, perfumes, and vehicle fumes.
Tiredness and Fatigue
Many reactions result in lethargy and feelings of fatigue. Tiredness can also occur at certain times of the day, such as in the afternoon after eating.
Multiple Systems
Symptoms may affect multiple systems in the body, resulting in headaches, irritability, hyperactivity, mood swings, fatigue, tachycardia, or inflammation.
General
· Chemicals - household cleaners, perfumes, building materials, washing detergent, pesticides
· Occupational sensitivities such as latex or building materials such as paints, glues, carpets, woods or varnishes
· Animals
· Heat, cold and humidity/dampness
Symptoms associated with an allergy or sensitivity can contribute to common conditions such as asthma, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). However, not all cases involve allergies or sensitivities.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is primarily caused by sensitivities and affects approximately 15% of the population. Common symptoms include diarrhea, constipation, bloating, and abdominal pain.
Skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, and hives are commonly associated with the symptoms of an allergy or sensitivity.
PLEASE BE ADVISED
AAT cannot guarantee any results. While AAT may be highly effective in relieving many symptoms associated with allergies or sensitivities, some cases do not respond.
AAT does not treat cases of anaphylaxis or life-threatening symptoms. Strict avoidance is always advised.

How many AAT treatments are Required?
AAT treats one allergen family at a time, so the number of treatments depends on the number of allergen families involved in the reaction. However, within each allergen family, the specificity is identified down to the protein molecule, making each treatment extremely comprehensive.
For instance, an allergen family could be something like dust, dairy, or grasses. Within each of these allergen families, we strive to identify all the components within the item that is causing a reaction, resulting in an exceptional and results-driven treatment.
Most of the time, a single allergen family will respond to treatment within a single visit, but it may require multiple visits per family. Conditions such as chronic sinusitis or IBS typically require between 5 and 12 treatments, depending on how many allergen families are contributing to the condition.
Is there an age restriction for the AAT treatments?
No. All ages may be treated, including infants.
How long do I have to wait before having contact with the item that was treated in my session?
Following a session, a patient should avoid the substance that was treated for 2 hours, if possible. Depending on the item addressed, avoidance is not always possible. It is recommended that the patient not have excessive contact with the item until the following day.
Can more than one treatment be administered in any given day?
Yes, up to four AAT treatments can be administered per day. This provides practitioners with the flexibility of offering more treatment options and allows patients to decide the pace at which they wish to proceed with the AAT treatments. The decision is in their hands, depending on the speed of results they desire and their budget.
How long are the AAT sessions?
The Initial Session typically takes approximately 40 to 60 minutes and includes an assessment and one treatment. Follow-Up Sessions typically take 20 to 30 minutes and include one treatment. The time chosen for a treatment depends on if the office has a front desk person to check the patient out after the treatment is complete.
Do You Accept Health Insurance for AAT Treatments?
AAT treatments are not covered by insurance because there is no diagnostic code for the treatment. However, they are eligible for coverage through a Health Savings Account (HSA) or a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), allowing patients to utilize these options.
How can I schedule an appointment?
You can schedule an appointment by calling the clinic directly at (512) 442-7999 or by booking online at RejuvitATX.com. A doctor's referral is not required.
Do I need to do anything before my appointment?
Patients should arrive 10-15 minutes before their Initial Session to complete the necessary forms.

RejuvitATX Chiropractic & Wellness Center - DOES NOT treat anaphylaxis or any life-threatening symptoms. Strict avoidance is always advised.
Do I need to stop taking any of my medications before the treatment?
No, patients do not need to stop taking medication that has been prescribed by a medical doctor without his/her authorization. You may continue taking over the counter medication to control current symptoms, as this will not affect the treatment.
Are any traditional medical allergy tests offered in the clinic?
We do not offer any conventional allergy testing; however, patients are encouraged to bring in allergy tests from their physicians.
Is general allergy testing required before an AAT treatment?
No, AAT does not require traditional allergy testing before treatment. However, if you have had any allergy testing done by your doctor, please bring the test results to your appointment.
How does AAT identify and test items for treatment?
AAT utilizes a specialized Stress Assessment, a refined form of Muscle Response Testing (MRT), to determine if any system in the body is responding inappropriately to a specific substance. This assessment quickly and easily identifies which items are causing stress on the body, allowing practitioners to determine what needs to be addressed for the patient.
How long will the treatment results last?
AAT patients have consistently reported long-term results lasting for years after treatment. However, AAT cannot guarantee that new allergies or sensitivities won't develop in the future. In most cases, the results have proven to be long-lasting.
Are there any guarantees that my symptoms will be relieved?
While we cannot offer guarantees, most of our patients experience long-term positive responses to AAT treatment. However, we cannot guarantee that new symptoms will not develop in the future.
What qualifications do the practitioners have?
All practitioners at RejuvitATX Chiropractic & Wellness Center are fully credentialed health care practitioners.
Can a food intolerance be treated?
No, food intolerances cannot be treated with AAT. Unlike allergies or sensitivities, food intolerances are often caused by an enzyme deficiency that prevents proper digestion of certain substances. Such cases are not addressed by the treatment.
Can AAT treat for anaphylactic symptoms?
No, we do not treat conditions involving anaphylactic reactions. However, patients who experience anaphylactic reactions can be treated for other non-life-threatening sensitivities.
What Cases Cannot be Treated with AAT and Why?
· Pathogen-Induced Conditions: AAT can only address symptoms or conditions caused by inappropriate reactions to harmless substances or stimuli. If a symptom or condition is caused by a pathogen (bacteria, viruses, or parasites), AAT treatment will not be effective.
· Intolerances: AAT cannot treat intolerances. An intolerance is different from an allergy or sensitivity as it results from a deficiency, not an inappropriate reaction. For example, lactose intolerance is caused by a deficiency of the lactase enzyme needed to break down lactose in dairy. While AAT cannot treat lactose intolerance, it can be very effective for symptoms related to dairy sensitivity. In cases where lactose intolerance and dairy sensitivity coexist, AAT treatment can offer partial benefit.
· Anaphylaxis or Life-Threatening Symptoms: AAT does NOT treat anaphylaxis or life-threatening symptoms. In these cases, strict avoidance is always advised.
While AAT can treat many symptoms associated with allergies or sensitivities, some cases may not respond to the treatment.
I would like to refer my friends or family for an AAT treatment, but they don't live in the area. Are there other AAT practitioners available?
Yes, we have a network of practitioners across the US and Canada. You can find a practitioner near you by visiting the AAT Public website at: https://advancedallergytherapeutics.com/find-an-aat-practitioner/
